AI job agent

AI job agent: automate the repetitive part of your search

A job agent is not another tool to maintain alongside the rest. It connects discovery, scoring, documents and follow-up into one workflow and keeps it running while you do something else.

What is an AI job agent?

An AI job agent supports several steps of a search rather than one. A job board shows listings. A resume generator writes text. A tracker stores status. An agent connects them: it searches continuously, scores against your profile, prepares documents for a specific role, helps fill the form and files incoming replies against the right application. What matters is that the steps share the same data, so what the agent knows about you is the same everywhere.

In short
  • One profile as the shared basis
  • Discovery, scoring, documents and tracking in one flow
  • You choose the level of automation
  • The final click is always yours
How it works

What the agent takes on

Watching

It queries the connected sources continuously and keeps results current without you starting a search.

Judging

It scores every role against your profile and your career tracks, and shows what the score rests on.

Preparing

For a role you want to pursue it produces a resume and cover letter and drafts answers to recurring questions, all grounded in your profile.

Filling in

In your browser the assistant fills the application form as far as it can and attaches the right documents. You submit it yourself.

Following up

Each application moves through a pipeline, and replies from your mailbox are filed against the right one.

When an agent makes sense

With many parallel applications

Past roughly ten open applications the administration becomes the work. A shared workflow is exactly what helps there.

When time is tight

Preparation happens in the background. You step in when a decision is due.

When quality matters

Because everything is built on a verified profile, your documents stay consistent instead of varying with how tired you were.

A typical week

You set the agent up once and look in every few days. What happens in between runs without you.

  • New roles are found and scored
  • You review the suggestions and choose
  • Matching documents are produced for the ones you picked
  • You fill the form with assistance and submit it yourself
  • Replies are filed against the right application

Limitations

What the agent deliberately does not do

Some of this would be technically possible and is still ruled out.

It never sends without you

There is no setting that submits applications on its own. The last click is yours, even though that costs a few seconds.

It does not solve CAPTCHAs

Those checks exist to detect automation. Circumventing them would abuse the systems you are applying through.

It does not decide your career

Whether a role fits your life is not something software can judge. It can only prepare the basis properly.

It is not a network

Referrals and personal contacts remain their own route into a company. An agent works the advertised part of the market.

FAQ

Questions about the AI job agent

Does the agent apply on its own?
No. It prepares applications and fills forms, but only what you submit is sent. That boundary is deliberate and cannot be turned off in settings.
Will employers notice I used an agent?
The application goes out as your application, from your browser and your session. The documents are built from your profile and assembled differently for each role, rather than sent as one identical mass document.
How is this different from using ChatGPT?
A chat model writes text when you ask it to. The agent holds your profile permanently, searches for roles itself, checks every statement against evidence you provided, and keeps track of all your open applications. The difference is less about writing quality than about context and traceability.

Stop filling in the same form every evening.

Set your job agent up once, then spend your attention on the roles where your judgement actually matters.
